I had the pleasure of attending and photographing The Depressed Cake Shop Seattle (DCSS) on October 5th. To say that I was impressed is putting it lightly! Essentially, The Depressed Cake Shop is a pop-up cake shop that sells baked goods to raise money to benefit various organizations that work to fight stigma and provide services for Mental Health. (To find out more about this wonderful fundraising opportunity, click here.) DCSS was raising money to benefit NAMI Greater Seattle. NAMI’s services are amazing, and FREE! I am a member of NAMI Pierce County, and I am so thankful for the services and support they provide locally in the Tacoma area. To find your local NAMI office, click here!
Now let’s get to the photos of the event! The photos are intentionally a bit dark, as the pastry items were gray to represent the veil of sadness/depression/etc. that can be outwardly present with Mental Illness of any kind.

However, when you cut into many of the baked goods you find beautiful color, to represent the hope and beauty that is inside each and every person. I love it.

And now the ladies representing NAMI Greater Seattle!
There was also a raffle of various artwork and cupcake making supplies.
Back to more yummy goodies!

There were also gorgeous flower arrangements and custom greeting cards for sale as well.
Okay, back to the sweets yet again!

And guess what?! They SOLD OUT after 2.5 hours! AMAZING! It was a very successful event. I was so happy to see bakers from all levels, participate in such a meaningful event. Thank you for welcoming me to capture your event Melissa!

Loved all the photo’s and that they sold out!! Great Job Misty..
